tan wang-ward is an artist and creative technologist based in London. Her practice constructs alternative experiences of time and space that resist the homogenising pull of contemporary technology. Through interactive and immersive works, she creates spaces for subtle expression — rooted in the present yet deeply connected to archival and ancestral pasts. Moving both with and against technology, she works with AI and immersive media to uncover creative and critical insights that emerge only through sustained, hands-on experimentation.

tan holds an MA in Computational Arts (2024) and an MA in Contemporary Art Theory (2015), both from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Before focusing on her own practices, she worked with heritage collections in London, delivering touring exhibitions and digitisation projects. Most recently, she exhibited at the London Museum Docklands and presented a paper at the EVA London 2026. Her project Listening to the Stones was awarded the Peter Canning Memorial Award from the Computer Arts Society. 

She also welcomes enquiries about collaborations with artists, creatives, researchers and institutions, bringing both her technical expertise as a creative technologist and curatorial experience from more than a decade in the arts.
